Industrial Corridor Optimization

The Public Systems Lab, IIT Delhi in collaboration with Government agencies like the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) have initiated discussion for a joint project which revolves around the optimization and validation of 10 identified locations for Industrial Corridor Projects. Specifically, the focus is to demonstrate the optimality of the pre-selected sites. This involves evaluating relevant factors such as logistics and production costs.

Objectives:

  • To showcase the optimality of the ten pre-identified locations for Industrial Corridor Projects.
  • To integrate the Gatishakti portal in the assessment process and leverage the portal’s data and features to enhance the evaluation of transport and other related factors.

Methodology:
In this study, we employ a robust methodology to assess the optimality of the pre-identified locations for Industrial Corridor Projects. The approach uses two powerful analytical techniques: data envelopment analysis (DEA) and analytic hierarchy process (AHP). DEA, a non-parametric method, enables us to evaluate the relative efficiency of each location based on multiple criteria. It allows us to determine which locations are performing optimally in relation to the others, considering various inputs and outputs. Complementing DEA, AHP aids in prioritizing and weighing the significance of each criterion.
